This is typically the condom size for teenagers.
For example, the site http://www.sizepenis.org/ has a tool available to determine the penis girth distribution by age. At 15 years old, an erect penis of 9cm is located above roughly 49% of the 15 years old population and below 51%, which is absolutely normal.
This condom size, the smallest available on the market, will be the best fit for erect penis circomferences from 90mm to 103mm.
It can be used safely and confortably up to a 108mm erect penis circumference.
47

This condom size will be the best fit for penises of an erect circumference from 104mm to 108mm but can be used from 104mm to 112mm.
NB: Of course, if a 45mm size condom is not available, this size can be used for an erect penis circumference of 94mm and above. But please be careful, the closer the condom size and the erect penis circumference, the higher the risk of slippage...

The Ansell - Manix King Size is a regular shape condom.

As you realised, with the 54 condom size comes the marketing principle of LARGE, XL, MAGNUM. But in reality these are perfectly normal condoms.

This condom size can be used for an erect penis circumference from 119mm to 129mm. But the best fit would be for erect penises with a circumference of 119mm to 124mm.
55

Trojan magnums are not regular shaped:
  • Head Width: 60mm
  • Shaft Width: 56mm
  • Base Width: 56mm
They have a slightly conic shape. To be used by whoever has an erect penis circumference which is not below 114mm along the shaft (for extra safety). But theoretically, the base width determines the condom size, i.e. 54.

Trojan magnums XL are not regular shaped:

  • Head Width: 65mm
  • Shaft Width: 56mm
  • Base Width: 56mm
They have a conic shape. To be used by whoever has an erect penis circumference which is not below 114mm along the shaft (for extra safety). The penis head should not be below 130 mm circumference when erect. But theoretically, the base width determines the condom size, i.e. 56.

This condom size can be used for an erect penis circumference from 124mm to 134mm. But the best fit would be for erect penises with a circumference of 124mm to 128mm.
57

With the 57 condom size come the real large condoms. The average erect penis is too small to fit safely in such a condom. It is the responsibility of each individual to choose objectively its condoms, with safety in mind first.

This condom size can be used for an erect penis circumference from 126mm to 136mm. But the best fit would be for erect penises with a circumference of 126mm to 131mm.

Here we enter the area of the very large condoms.
They fit the biggest 20% of the population.

This condom size can be used for an erect penis circumference from 132mm to 144mm. But the best fit would be for erect penises with a circumference of 132mm to 138mm.
64

There is only a 6.4% market for these condoms, as the individuals who have an erect penis of this size are rare.

This condom size can be used for an erect penis circumference from 141mm to 153mm. But the best fit would be for erect penises with a circumference of 141mm to 147mm.
69

This is the biggest available condom size. Only 4% of the population can potentially wear such a condom. And only 1.1% can do safely!

For every penis size above 152mm.

  1. I'm just wondering which measurement I should be using to choose. My average girth is 5.5 inches (14cm), but I'm 5 inches under the head, 5.5 mid shaft and 6 inches at my base. Should I be using my average or base girth to choose a condom?

  2. Follow the instructions for the biggest girth, but compare the condom size obtained with your smallest girth.
Basically, in your case, you could use a 64 or 69mm condom, but you don't want your penis head to be much smaller than the condom size.
The best compromise here would then be a 60mm condom size.

    1. Thanks for your reply. To be honest I'm dumbfounded that I'm an extra large when for the longest time I thought I was quite small! Just goes to show how messed up people's perception of penis size today is due to porn and the media.

  3. Do you have an suggestions as to straight shape condoms from 54-56? The 56 I always find either balloon or have a head shape. I'm in the US and can't seem to find any (in stores). That also being said, Trojan sizes are different on every website and have no sizing on their box. Do you know any website to get more of a comprehensive (and accurate) list?

    1. Try the Trustex extra large. It is a 57 width from base to tip and thin. So far they are the best i found for the wider condom without the flared tip. You'll probably have to buy online as I have never found them in a store. They're light on lubrication so keep that in mind.

  4. I don't really have precise suggestions as I am not american. But instead of looking for condoms in stores, you could search on the internet to widen your choice.

Concerning trojan sizes, I used the measurements from http://www.kimono-condoms.com/condom-size.html.

  5. Hey there!
I know this post is a bit dated and though I'm not sure about whether you get notifications of any kind about new comments on any of your posts using blogspot, as I have no experience of it, I'll go anyway and hope for the best!:
My issue is a bit similar to that of the first replier's above, though concerning different dimensions, namely: under the head 5,0, mid 5,74 and base 6,33 inches. I realize the head is the same, but considering my other measurements aren't; does it change my alternatives or can I safely wear the same size he does without much discomfort or so?
    Thanks in advance!

    1. I think you should try the same size range, from 60mm to 64mm girth or larger. Also, try out condoms with "flare shape" design.
